Restructuring Schemes

Restructuring Schemes as a link in title between the British Coal Corporation and the Coal Authority

The Coal Industry Act of 1994 made provision to transfer rights to The Coal Authority by Restructuring Schemes. . Initially specific sites were transferred to entities, including The Coal Authority and ultimately in 1997 all remaining property interests of British Coal Corporation were transferred to The Coal Authority by a Restructuring Scheme made by the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry pursuant to provisions under Section 12 of the 1994 Act.

The Keeper of Registers of Scotland has examined a copy of the Restructuring Scheme, and it is therefore not necessary for this to be produced with any application for registration of title.
